New Maruti Dzire’s waiting period jumps to three months

With a high demand of New Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the waiting period of compact sedan has increased to 3 months since its launch last month.

Country’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki launched new Dzire last month in India at a starting price of Rs. 5.45 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The compact sedan from Maruti Suzuki offers  8 Variants – LXI, LDI, VXI, VDI, ZXI, ZDI, ZXI+ & ZDI+ with AMT in all the variants except LXI & LDI.

This time Maruti Suzuki rechristened the compact sedan as Maruti Suzuki Dzire by taking out Swift prefix.  With an increased demand of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the booking period has gone to 3 months. The top variant Z+ and Mid Variant V recorded the highest demand.

The compact sedan is based on Maruti Suzuki’s latest HEARTECT platform making it lighter and safer than previous generation Dzire. On the safety front, all the variants are being offered with Dual Airbags and ABS with Brake Assist. Maruti Suzuki has also worked hard on the distribution of features among the variants as Mid Level – V variant covers most of the important features as Rear Armrest, Rear AC Vents, Steering Mounted Controls etc. On the other hand, DRLS, Projector Headlamp, Touchscreen Infotainment System, Rear Parking Sensor with Camera and Precision Cut Alloy Wheels are being offered in Z+ variant only.
Under the hood, the new Dzire is powered by same 1.2-litre K-series petrol & 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines. The petrol unit is tuned to develop 81 bhp of max power against the peak torque of 114 Nm whereas the diesel unit generates 74 bhp with the peak torque of 190 Nm. The transmission duties are carried out by 5-speed manual as standard along with 5-speed AMT unit as an option.

The Compact sedan is made available in 6 colour options – Arctic White, Magma Grey, Oxford Blue, Gallant Red, Sherwood Brown and Silky Silver.

With the price range of Rs 5.45 lakh to INR 9.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the new MS Dzire competes against the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Aspire.
